Our college recruiting falls into two camps. Software Innovation and Core Operations. We know that it is difficult in college to understand the path of financial careers, and applying for a pre-determined career, when you effectively have no experience, is a random decision.
On the Core Operations side of the business, you could be doing accounting, investment desk, potentially trading (with a license), administrative work, and marketing. You will learn the advice side of the investment business.
On the Software Innovation side, you will be working in TypeScript and React to rapidly build and release products. You will not be squirreled away in a back room but instead working with all the employees of the firm.
In either role you will be in an intense but supportive atmosphere that gives you a good deal of cross-training. It is rational to have concerns about leaving school and being bored in a corporate job. This is likely the situation many of you are going to find yourselves in a year or two from now. At One Day In July if you have the drive to be a high performer, we will keep the diversity of work and the challenges high.
